Rachel S. Rhee
MA, LPC, NCC

The only journey is the journey within.” – Rainer Maria Rilke

We all need help sometimes and we all have room to grow. I believe that everyone can benefit from therapy whether it is to address a severe mental illness, to receive support through a rough season of life, or to gain greater self-knowledge and unleash your full potential. My professional interests include (but are not limited to) psychoses, dissociative disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma, sexual abuse, weight loss, and adult ADHD. My approach is psychodynamic, which means that we will focus on your feelings and use the therapeutic relationship to help you understand yourself better and learn new patterns of behavior. I also utilize brain-based therapy and nutritional treatment to optimize mental health. I can provide therapy in English or Korean. Your initial 20 minute phone consultation with me is free. Evening and Saturday hours available.

You may reach me at 610-949-9449 ext. 6

People seek therapy for many different reasons. Whether you are dealing with a particular crisis or simply want to know more about yourself, therapy can lead to a better understanding of who you are and what has shaped you. Through these discoveries, therapy can allow you to identify old patterns with new and healthier behaviors.  As a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 10 years of experience, my passion is to help each client find relief from distress and to overcome obstacles that interfere with a satisfying, fulfilling life. A key ingredient to successful therapy is forming a trusting, comfortable relationship with your therapist. In a supportive, reliable, non-judgmental setting, together we can find solutions and strategies for transformation, as well as explore deeper causes of behaviors and emotions.I provide therapy to individuals and couples who are struggling with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship problems, family issues and trauma. I tailor my approach to the needs of the client by using techniques of mindfulness and through relational, insight-oriented, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). By using a multi-faceted approach, I help clients explore the present, the past and the future. It is my goal and commitment as a therapist to help clients gain practical tools and the skills to manage life issues independently.

Depression, anxiety, low self esteem, anger, relational discord, and other mental health concerns are tough to tackle alone. Counseling can be just what you need to begin the process of healing and liberation. Therapy can seem like an additional task in your daily routine but clearing space in your mind from conflict and worry can produce a better functioning and thriving “You”.

I am passionate about my work as a therapist  and strive to create an environment conducive for change through relationship. As we know, change does not occur unless you feel heard, understood, and safe.  I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical & Community Counseling with training in treating adults, adolescents, and children dealing with depression, anxiety, history of trauma, and  behavioral concerns. I also have experience in family and marital counseling. My approaches include but are not limited to Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Schema, Motivational, and Structural Family Therapy. Allow me the opportunity to aid in this new path of resolution and newness with you.
